Data we collect
Account: email address, username, and an optional profile photo. You can register with an email and password or sign in with a Google account; with Google we receive only your email address, display name and user id from Google — never your password. Gameplay: results, statistics, achievements, and a history of the questions already shown to you — so you are never shown the same question twice. Guests: only a random local identifier (a UUID) generated on your device and kept in the App’s local storage; it is used solely to remember which questions you have already seen. We ourselves do not collect location, contacts, sensitive data or hardware identifiers, and we do not fingerprint your device or browser. The third-party services embedded in the site — Google Analytics and Google AdSense — do process IP addresses and cookie identifiers on Google servers; see "Measurement & analytics" and "Advertising" below. You can reset the guest identifier at any time by clearing the App’s data.
How data is used
To run the game (progress, leaderboard, achievements, and preventing you from being shown questions you have already seen), for security and anti-cheating, and for support. The guest identifier and question history are used only to operate the game — not for advertising, not for cross-app or cross-site tracking, and never shared with third parties. Legal bases (GDPR): contract performance, legitimate interest, and consent where required.
Processors
Data is stored with Supabase (secure cloud infrastructure, which also handles authentication and all game logic). The site is served by Vercel. These providers process data solely on our behalf under data-processing agreements.
Measurement & analytics
The site embeds Google Analytics 4 (measurement id G-ZX49ZMK5HL). It measures aggregate usage — screen views, game events, device and browser type, and a coarse location (country/region) derived from the IP address. GA4 anonymises the IP address by default and we never receive it. We do not send GA any name, email or other personal identifier; the data is used only to understand usage and improve the game. You can block the collection with the official Google opt-out add-on (tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout) or by blocking third-party cookies in your browser.
Advertising
The site shows Google AdSense ads (publisher id ca-pub-4935350853753304) on content screens only — never inside a live game; auto-ads are deliberately disabled. Google and its partners may use cookies and device identifiers to serve and measure ads, and may process your IP address for that purpose. We do not pass Google your email, username or game results. You can turn off ad personalisation in Google Ad Settings (adssettings.google.com) or through your device privacy settings. Where required, a consent prompt is shown before personalised ads.
Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Your username, photo and achievements are visible to other players on the leaderboard and in head-to-head games — that is the social nature of the game.
Retention & deletion
Data is kept while your account is active. You may request access, correction, or full deletion of your account and data at any time — through the account-deletion page at https://the-quiz-show.com/delete-account, or via the in-app "Contact Us" form. We acknowledge the request within 7 business days and complete the deletion within 30 days. What is deleted: the account, profile and photo, game results, achievements, your seen-question history and your leaderboard record. What may remain: aggregate anonymous records (which cannot identify you) and data we are legally required to keep.
Children
The App is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them. Parents who believe their child provided data should contact us for deletion.
International transfers & security
Data may be hosted on servers outside your country, protected by standard safeguards (encryption in transit and at rest, access controls). Material security incidents are reported as required by law.
Your rights
Subject to applicable law (including GDPR and CCPA): access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, restriction, and the right to complain to a supervisory authority. Changes
Material updates will be announced in the App. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. The binding version is the Hebrew one.
